Natalie’s Favorite Tweed Squares

Natalie has already requested this again when she comes home for Christmas!

You will start off with:
– 2/3 CUP Butter
– 2/3 CUP White Sugar

Cream this mixture and then add:
– 1 1/3 Cup Flour
– 2 TSP. Baking Powder
– 1/2 TSP. Salt
– 1/2 CUP Milk
– 1 TSP. Vanilla

Beat 2 Eggs whites and 2 TBLS. white sugar and fold this into the batter above.

Add 2 semi-sweet chocolate blocks, firmly grated. Bake in oven at 350 degrees until golden brown.

Take from oven and set on wire rack to cool. Then make the frost with the following…

– 1/3 cup butter
– 2 egg yolks
– 1 cup icing sugar

Beat the above mixture and spread on your squares.

Now you take a couple of semi-sweet chocolate blocks and melt with about 1 TBSP. of butter. You can melt this in the microwave until you see the chocolate blocks get all softened up.

Take from the microwave and mix well and then spread this on top of your frosting above. Set aside for a short while and then cut into squares ….. These are delicious!
